tcellCustom Peptide Sets for T-Cell Stimulation/Epitope Mapping

Overlapping peptides have been widely used to map epitopes that simulate T-lymphocytes in vitro. Synthetic peptides bind to a groove of extracellular MHC molecules, presented on the surface of cells. CD4 T-cell receptors interact with MHC class II complexes and CD8 T-cells receptors with MHC class I complexes. The binding groove MHC class II molecules has open ends, making it accessible for peptides with a length of >10 amino acid residues, whereas the binding pocket MHC class I molecules has closed ends that only allow 8-10 amino acid long peptides to enter. However, it was shown that 15 amino acid long peptides can efficiently stimulate both CD4 and CD8 T-cells.

INTAVIS offers cost-effective peptide sets that are well suited to map T-cell epitopes. Each peptide set consists of up to 96 peptides, delivered in a 96-tube rack format. All peptides are synthesized with state-of-the-art robotic instruments that can produce up to 384 peptides in parallel.
